Stories have been with us from the beginning of humanity. Think of folklore and the Bible; from the days when humans would gather around the fire to listen to their tribal elders and up to this very day. Stories have the power to change reality, shaping the consciousness of entire societies and countries. The ability to spark interest and tell a fascinating and coherent story is an art that can be applied in any area of life. This workshop will provide practical tools that can be applied in our professional and private lives as we become better storytellers.

 

My workshop, “Story -  Cinema Inspired Creative Writing”, provides the opportunity to acquire useful tools for our professional and private lives as we become better storytellers.

 

The workshops will be a space for promoting both personal and universal expression through writing and storytelling. They will help participants broaden their outlook and adopt new perspectives that will challenge personal and social norms; build their interpersonal communication toolbox using the foundations of writing and cinema; and break down personal barriers, gaining the freedom to express their desires and dreams.

 

Mor Hanay – Screenwriter, Director, Lecturer, and Lector. 

Mor holds a bachelor's degree in film from Sapir Academic College. She is the artistic director and founder of the Beer Sheva Short Film Festival, founded in collaboration with the Beer Sheva municipality, the Negev Development Authority, and Cinema City. Her short film The Update has been featured in dozens of local and international festivals and has won eight awards, including Best Screenplay and Best Film. Mor is currently working on her feature film, as well as studying for her master's degree in film, lecturing, and serving as a lector. She lives in Beer Sheva.
